Instead, it's a beat-it-up, cake-type muffin, high-crowned and very "vanilla-looking." This is a great muffin for kids (young or old) who don't want a lot of "stuff" in their muffins. Line a cupcake tin with paper liners.

- Get 200 g plain flour (sift)
- Take 140 g caster sugar
- Get 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- Prepare 100 ml vanilla yogart (or a plain yogart)
- Get 2 medium eggs
- Make ready 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Make ready 140 g butter (unsalted) -melted
The two mixtures are combined and blended just until moistened. I love these Glazed Donut Muffins because they really do taste like a donut, but they're not fried as most donuts are. There's a hint of spice, specifically cinnamon and nutmeg, that gives them a tremendous flavor! Not to mention the homemade glaze that each muffin is dipped in.
Steps to make Donut style muffins!!!! (No frying required!!):
- Pre heat oven to 190c (170c fan), line 10 cake cases in a tin
- Put caster sugar, flour, bicarbonate soda, in a large bowl
- In a jug add eggs, yoghurt, vanilla extract, and melted butter, whisk together
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients, using a manual hand whisk, whisk together well until combined
- Half fill each cupcake case with cake mix, and then add around half a tsp of filling (I used nutella and jam as my fillings), then top up with my cake mix to the top of case
- Bake in middle of oven, for 15 minutes until golden..take out and leave to cool for 5minutes
- Pop some granulated sugar in a bowl… and a little melted butter in another bowl (melt around 40g unsalted), pop the top of each muffin into the melted warm butter and then dip into the sugar!

These muffins are so phenomenal, and yet SO simple to make. However, these donut muffins are as indulgent as any fried donut with that melty butter and thick layer of cinnamon sugar coating. How to make this recipe This recipe is a simple mixture of flour, baking powder , baking soda , salt and the glorious Fall spices of cardamom and nutmeg.
