- Make ready 1/2 cup besan/gram flour
- Make ready 2 tomatoes
- Take 1 inch ginger

Combine the beaten curds, gram flour, ½ cup of water and curry leaves and mix well so that no lumps remain. Heat the oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, fennel seeds, asafoetida, bay leaf, clove, cinnamon and cardamom. Gatte ki sabzi is a delicious, spicy, tomato-based curry laced with besan dumplings. For the recipe, take a grinder and grind, turmeric, clove, hung curd, dried red chillies, and red chilli powder.
Instructions to make Gatte ki sabji:
- In a bowl add besan, salt and ajwain. Add soda, turmeric powder, chilli powder, 1 tsp oil, 2 tsp curd. Mix everything well.
- If needed add some water and make a soft dough like roti dough. Cover and keep aside for ten minutes.
- Now grease hands and roll out dough balls in 1/2 inch diameter logs.
- In a pan boil some water and add logs(gatte). Boil them for 10-12 minutes till they cooked.
- Cut in small pieces and keep aside.
- Now for gravy heat oil and add cumin and hing. Saute then add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and dry fenugreek.
- Saute for 1 minute than add tomato, ginger and green chilli paste.
- Saute the masala untill to see oil leaving its edges.
- Now add curd. Mix well keep stirring and add salt and garam masala. Add water for gravy.
- After 3-5 minutes add gatte. Cook for 2 minutes and switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with chapati.
