Ridge gourd ki sabji is one of the most popular of recent trending foods on earth. It is enjoyed by millions every day. It is simple, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. Ridge gourd ki sabji is something that I’ve loved my entire life. They’re nice and they look wonderful.
ridge gourd is also called as tori or turai in hindi and dodka in marathi or beerakaya in telugu and Heerekayi in Kannada. Cool and blend in a mixer along with the salt into a smooth powder. Heat the oil in a kadhai and add the mustard seeds. When the seeds crackle, add the curry leaves and ridge gourd and cook till the ridge gourd becomes tender and turns glossy.
To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have ridge gourd ki sabji using 8 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to make Ridge gourd ki sabji:
- Take 1 chopped onion
- Get 1 chopped tomato
- Take 2 chopped green chilli
- Take As per taste Salt
- Get 1/4 tbs turmeric powder
- Prepare 1 tbsp Green coriander leaves
- Take 1/4 tbsp red chilli powder
- Make ready 2 chopped ridge gourd
Once the seeds crackle, add in the ginger, tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt to taste. This Ridge Gourd curry (Turai ki subzi) uses very basic ingredients and spices. Start the pressure cooker or instant pot in sauté mode. Add oil, cumin, green chili, ginger and garlic.
Steps to make Ridge gourd ki sabji:
- Heat oil in pan, add onions and cook it for 2 minutes.
- Now add chopped green chilli and tomatoes in it and cook for two minutes then add all spices(salt, turmeric powder,red chilli and coriander powder).
- Cook for 5 minutes then add chopped ridge gourd in it.
- Cook it well by adding little amount of water and by cover the kadai it in between.
- After 15-20 minutes sabji is ready to serve with chappati.
Start the pressure cooker or instant pot in sauté mode. Add oil, cumin, green chili, ginger and garlic. I used finely diced ginger and garlic. In north India ridge gourd curry is called Turai ki sabji and in Andhra we call it Beerakaya kura. Traditionally ridge gourd curry uses onion, tomato and green chilly.
